The 1927 World Snooker Championship snooker tournament was held at the Camkin's Hall, Birmingham, England.[1] This was the inaugural edition of the tournament and was organised by the Joe Davis, who also won the title and went on to dominate this event until after the Second World War. The highest break of the tournament was 60, made by Albert Cope.
The entry fee was five guineas per player with a five guineas sidestake.[2] The entry fees were split between the prize fund and the Billiards Association and Control Council (BACC) who used their part of the fees towards to purchase the trophy which cost £19.
Joe Davis, the eventual champion, won the £6 10 shillings.[3]
